The Goth [stereo]types!

Really fun little site. I can look at the front page of the stereotypes and place every Goth I ever met in at least one or two of those types.

Just a bit of fun, I know, but doesn't the fact there are so many different 'stereotypes' make them irrelevant?

Gah. You still get these 'goths all wear black and look the same' twats.

And just out of interest, what did you class me as?

I put you down as trad-cyber-rivethead, with occassional fetish leanings.

What would you class me as? I'd put myself down as cyber-fetish, with some hippie and perky aspects.

And yeah, the stereotypes of Goth are purely for fun and irrelevant in the real world.

Haha that site is really funny! I think Im a mixture of Victorian, J-Goth, Cybergoth and Fetish Goth! Hahah

Thing is, people who arent educated in goth subculture would see me dressed cyber and, for example, my friend dressed victorian and wouldnt have the slightest idea that they were any different. Which annoys me.

What annoys me more though, is when I get called and 'EMO' when its obviously clear that there is nothing Emo about me!....at least I dont think there is haha

I'd put you down as a raver, you orange-top-and-jean-wearing scumbag! Eat your own stereotypes! ;D

Cyber Hippie, if we take into account your disgustingly positive views of all the wrong things (like Feminism).

And yes, let us not forget the important thing.

FUCK EMOS!

Cyber-hippie doesn't sound wrong to me. Actually if I lined up every stereotype I feel I fit on that site I'd be: Cyber, fetish, hippie and perky.

Most people who claim to be emo these days don't actually listen to emo, how weird is that? Emo was coined by Ian McKaye when describing his post-hardcore band Fugazi as a reaction to the violent tough-guy culture that surrounded hardcore punk and Straight Edge. That was in the mid-80's, now its developed into pop-punk like Fallout Boy and Saves The Day.
